I’ve always adapted the game of ‘pass the parcel’, and have found the dare version to be very popular with older children, as it is so silly! I also made a pass the parcel for an adult friend’s birthday recently as you are never too old to have fun.
The way I play it is that when a layer is unwrapped a written dare is found which is read by the person, and then they have to do it. If the children feel self-conscious then it becomes a group dare and everyone has to do it. I still include some chocolate treats in the last unwrapping for everyone playing.
Here’s some ideas to get you started…
GROUP– make eye contact with each other and do not smile or laugh for one minute.
If you have a S in your name, attempt to lick your elbow whilst singing ‘happy b’day’.
GROUP– do your gangham style moves
If you have a A in your name, stand on one leg with hands on your head, and close your eyes.
If you have a T in your name, talk to each other in your native language of ‘gigglookneenosh’.
If you have a N in your name, talk continuously for one minute without pausing.
GROUP– for the rest of the game yell out exclamations randomly.
GROUP– walk around the room, if you are male acting like a female, if you are female acting like a male.
