I have been wanting to do this for ages but everytime I went to the craft shop I forgot to also buy the clock parts until this week. I found some instructions as how to drill a plate, slowly… This was not going to be a problem as the only drill I have is a hand drill. I figured if I can drill holes into shells without them braking then I should be able to manage a plate. I started off using a small drill bit and gradually increased the size until it was big enough.
The instructions with the clock kit were easy to follow. They did however forget to mention that you have to make sure there are NO kinks or bends in the clock hands whatsoever or they will tick and tangle! Once this was sorted it worked well.
It’s finished and hanging up. I am still a bit undecided on the numbers, as to how many to put on, or if any at all. As I write the clock is already down to the 12 and 3.
My other vintage plate decorations in the kitchen are some butterflies from Lightly.

love this creation – you are so clever. i would probably crack quite a few plates.
They are surprisingly strong, and I love that once you get the clock parts you can make a clock out of anything you dream up. I’ve also seen them on tupperware lids, old records, painted wood…
Hope to see you are okay?? Just having a long break?
Lovely to hear from you Lesley, I’m okay, just not been in computer mode and uninspired to post. I have been doing heaps and need to make a catch up post of photos of some of the projects I have I’ll commit to this tomorrow!
