Why the Spiral?

The name Life Spirals was chosen as spirals symbolise the journey to the centre, turning, and return. This is a pattern repeated again and again throughout our lives. The unfurling of a spiral fern leaf in nature shows us the possibilities of new life, new beginnings, new growth and life’s desire for itself. Spirals depict the lifecycles of birth, growth, death and rebirth. They are found all around us in shells, animal horns, plant growth patterns, snails, hurricanes, galaxies, and the double helix of our DNA. As a symbol for healing work I believe the spiral honours this continual ebb and flow in our lives.  For my own personal meaning the spiral is also a symbol of Hope.
